AngelPaws Executive Advisory Board Meeting Tuesday, April 23, 2013 1. Welcome and Introductions 2. Old Business Paws for Help event Aug. 4, 2 to 6 p.m.: ---Sponsors and vendors: -Shelly will have a sponsor letter drafted for review -Categories -Booth fees for sponsors and/or vendors (suggested: $10 for non-profits and $50 for for-profits. Zona Rosa allows for-profit vendors to promote themselves while on ZR property, but they cannot sell anything.) -How many total vendors can be accommodated? -What do sponsors get? ---Raffle items: -Would those contributing raffle items worth $50 or more (if that's the amount the board chooses to be a sponsor) be considered sponsors? Or would cash contributions be the only ones counted toward sponsorship? ---Contacting potential sponsors, vendors and contributors of raffle items: -How should the board divide up this responsibility? ---Giveaways: -What should they be? Sad but True

« Guide Dog Attack Attack on my Guide Dog March 26, 2013 // 19 This is the hardest post I’ve ever written. I’ve heard the horror stories, and always told myself- that it would never happen to us; we live in a nice area with well trained dogs and responsible owners. Statistically, I told myself that the likelihood of it happening was so minute that I should just put it out of my mind. Having owned horses my whole life, I am a practical person when it comes to animal ownership and know the risks and benefits associated with each. You still never think it will happen to you. Until it does… Elvis and I have been a team for 4 years this March. We just celebrated our anniversary. We’ve been through Eleven eye surgeries at Yale, horrific rain and snow storms, parades, major mountain climbing, a painful nerve injury to his tail, and dangerous faulty train doors that have trapped him by the neck. AngelPaws Inc. Executive Advisory Board Meeting Tuesday, March 19, 2013 6 - 7 p.m. 9023 N.W. Anglia Road, Kansas City, MO 64155 AGENDA 1. Welcome and introductions 2. Old Business --Conflict of interest policy: Board members agreed at a previous meeting to sign policy and return to AngelPaws. 3. New Business --Discussion with Clarence Smith: Clarence, executive director of the Coalition for Independence, will join the meeting by conference call. --Income from Comedy Night: AngelPaws sold 22 tickets to Comedy Night at the KC Improv on March 2. The organization made $506 ($359 = $110 [ question here? ] + donations from two people). The Improv donated the cost of printing tickets and offered to make it an annual event. --Board responsibilities: -Grant Writing Workbook -Strategic Plan (one-, three-, and five-year plans, etc.).
